Styling Dhoti Pants

I love to invest in pieces that are versatile, so we can style them in multiple ways and redefine the outfit! Today sharing one of such pieces which I tried to style a little different with dhoti pants and wore it during one of the festivities during Diwali! Without any rambling I want to keep this post simple and get straight into the outfit details 🙂

I love a good white shirt, both in regular length and also the long ones. I’ve been searching for one for a very long time and found one last year 🙂 It’s a classic and sustainable piece made out of Tencel and comes with button-down details also on either side of the waistline, which definitely makes it more versatile.

So I decided to style it with my dhoti pants and instead of wearing it in the traditional way I mismatched the buttons and created an asymmetric tunic kind of look. It took me a while to find the right pattern and I could only use the buttons for one side and had to secure the other with a safety pin until I was happy with the look of the tunic. The dhoti pant really went very well with the tunic, blending in and striking the right balance. My husband thought it was a new outfit and didn’t recognize that it was a DIYed tunic until I mentioned it, so that was a win for me 🙂

Since we were only staying at home and I kept it simple and added these beautiful crystal pearl drops in gun metal. The earrings went very well with the outfit balancing both the white and grey combination. I did my simple everyday natural makeup to finish off the look. If I were to carry this look out I would definitely add a pair of juttis to complete the look. Since my outfit is plain and in neutral colors, I would add a color element through my shoes and bag. I added these powder pink Paris juttis and I loved how that added a subtle pop of color to the look, while making the statement 🙂

I can definitely say that this is one of my most favorite looks that I’ve put together in recent time 🙂 Let me know your thoughts about the look and don’t forget to scroll down for more pictures and details.
