Oils for Healthy Skin

How did your weekend go? Mine was all a relaxing kind of weekend. I was trying to pamper myself with a at home hair and body spa. It has already started to get cold out here and my skin really feels dry. I was using some oils that would help moisturize my skin and at the same time give myself a good massage and relax my muscles. I thought of sharing about these oils, that are really beneficial for our skin and they are almost available at our home.

Shea Moisture 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

The first one is Coconut Oil , which we all know about and use it almost on a daily basis. This instantly softens and restores dry skin and adds hydration required for the skin during the Winters. You can apply it to your skin directly or you can make a DIY exfoliator out of it. Because it kind of makes my skin too oily, I prefer to use this as an exfoliator. I take equal amounts of sugar and coconut oil, squeeze in a small amount of lemon juice(or lemon essential oil) and use it as an exfoliator. It works really well specially on the rough and dark areas like knees and elbows.

Jonhson’s Baby Oil

The second one is Vitamin – E Oil, which works to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the ageing process. It is both a nutrient and a anti-oxidant, but when used in its purest form can cause some allergies if you have sensitive skin. So I tend to use the Johnson’s Baby Oil, that has Vitamin E and Aloe Vera as it is so mild and it has got even the added benefits of Aloe Vera. This one works wonders when you use it at least once an week. It is kind of heavy and oily, so I usually apply it all over my body like an hour before I take my shower and if possible I give myself a nice massage to my hands and feet. My skin feels really nice and soft.

Now solutions Sweet Almond Oil

The last one is Almond Oil, a mild and hypoallergenic oil that can be used on any skin type. When gently rubbed over the skin it gets completely absorbed and it is one of the best massage oils. You can use this as a makeup remover too. When used on a daily basis it can help you reduce your dark circles, fine lines and other signs of ageing. It has the mild nutty smell and you can customize it by adding any essential oil like lavender oil, and use it to moisturize your hands and legs during the night time.
